The Marathon 7500 is an ultra marathon trail running race through the imposing Bucegi Mountains in central Romania.

The event offers two extremely demanding loop courses — a 45km route with 3200m of elevation gain, and a 90km route with 7500m of elevation gain.

Participants must form a team of two runners. Both team members run the full distance. They must run and finish the race together.

The start and the finish are at the ‘Mountain Rescue Team Headquarters Pestera’ at an elevation of about 1600 metres.

As the event takes place in a high-alpine environment (the highest peak of the range is over 2500 metres high) only experienced and well-prepared mountain runners should aim to take part in this competition.

The time limit to complete the course is 16 hours for the 45km ‘Hobby’ race and 40 hours for the 90km ‘Elite’ race.
