Held in a beautiful setting in the Julian Alps, the Bovški tek offers a 10k multi-terrain race, a 3.2k trail run, and a number of children's races which are also run on trails.

The start/finish area is on the grassy airfield of Bovec, a ski and holiday resort that sits in the Soča River Valley in the far west of Slovenia, near the border with Italy.

The children's races and the 3.2k race are run on a very flat course on the airfield.

The 10k course, however, is rather challenging as it takes the runners down to the River Soča and up again to the airfield. The difference between the lowest and the highest point on the course is about 100 metres. Approximately 1.5 kilometres are run on asphalt roads.
