Over 2400 runners and walkers took part in last year's Per le colline di Fagagna, ("Through the hills of Fagagna"), a marvellous non-competitive fun running event in the north-east of Italy.

The start and finish are in the village of Fagagna in the Province of Udine.

The event offers four attractive, undulating routes (7km, 12km, 21km, 30km), mostly on trails and gravel roads, with some sections on well-marshalled asphalt roads.

Participants can start at any time between 8am and 9am, and they can decide on the course which distance they want to run (or walk). Finishing times are not recorded.

Along the route, there are plenty of friendly helpers and all-you-can-eat feed stations. The entry fees are very low — just 2.50 euros on the day!
