Held annually in October in Croatia's capital city, the Zagrebački maraton (Zagreb Marathon) features four road races:
- 10k race
- half marathon
- marathon
- marathon relay for teams of four runners
All races begin and end on Trg bana Jelačića (Ban Jelačić Square), Zagreb's main square.
The marathon route takes the runners through the districts north, east and west of the city centre.
The first four kilometres are uphill (50 metres of elevation gain) and the next four kilometres are downhill (50 metres of elevation loss). After that, the course is mainly flat.
