The 10 Miglia del Montello gives runners from northern Italy and beyond the opportunity to set a personal best time over the 10 miles (16.09 kilometres), a classic and popular distance in the UK but rarely run in Central Europe.
The start and the finish are in the village of Volpago del Montello, which is located in Italy's Veneto region, approximately 20 kilometres from the city of Treviso and 50 kilometres from Venice.
The new route is a mildly-undulating loop through the wine-growing region at the foot of the Montello hill. Parts of the course are run alongside a canal.
In 2011, the winners were Abdelhadi Tyar (50:21) and Valeria Straneo (55:47).
