The course will be closed to (almost) all traffic.

The annual Eisbärlauf winter run series in Vienna offers three events, from January to March. Each event comprises a 7K race and a half marathon.

Participants run 7-kilometre loops through the Prater, which is Vienna's largest public park, and home to a large number of sports facilities.

The start and the finish are near the Ernst-Happel-Stadion, Austria's main stadium. The course is AIMS-certified, traffic-free, and completely flat.

Almost 800 runners took part in last year's second race of the Eisbärlauf series. The fastest half marathon finishers were Andreas Ringhofer (1:11:06) and Natalia Steiger (1:27:10).
