37th "Berlin New Year's Eve Run" 2012

On New Year's Eve 2012, a healthy mix of ambitious athletes and costumed fun runners will meet again at the Mommsenstadion on the western fringes of Berlin for the Berliner Silvesterlauf, a popular multi-terrain event with about 2000 participants.

Entrants can choose between the 9.9k or the 6.3k race. Juniors and children run 4k or 2k. Women can take part in the short runs as well.

The route is a challenging course through the vast Grunewald forest.

From the course, participants get some fine views of the city in the distance as they run up and down the slopes of the Teufelsberg ("Devil's Mountain"), a man-made hill built of rubble after World War Two.
