10th Blaguš Run 2012
Blaguško jezero (Slovenia), Saturday 21 April 2012
The Blaguški tek takes place in the rolling hills of eastern Slovenia.
Men run 9km and women run 6km. There's also a 3km run (for men and women), and a number of shorter children's races.
The start and finish are at Blaguško jezero (Lake Blaguš), a lovely little reservoir located near the village of Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici.
The route is an undulating and very scenic 3-kilometre loop. Most of the race is on grass, trails and dirt roads. A 500-metre-long uphill section is on an asphalt road.
The event ends with a barbecue in the forest.
Over 200 runners took part in the event last year, many of them from nearby Hungary and Austria. The top finishers in the main races were Zdenko Klemenčič (29:49) and Mojca Grandovec (23:53).
