The Schilcherlauf in Stainz, Austria, is an atmospheric small-town road running event. Last year, over 1600 runners took part in various races up to the half marathon distance.

Located about 25 kilometres from the city of Graz, Stainz sits amid the rolling hills of the small Schilcher wine region, where a distinctive, fresh and fruity rosé wine is produced.

The start and the finish are on the attractive little Hauptplatz. The route is a mildly undulating 5.25km-loop, which runs through the town and through pumpkin and corn fields. The course is closed to traffic. Participants can choose to run one, two, three or four laps.

In 2010, the half marathon winners were Marius Bock (1:10:25) and Anja Prieler (1:24:48).
