Almost 400 runners from 12 countries completed last year's Tudás Útja Félmaraton, which is held every year in early November in Hungary's capital city Budapest.

The start and finish are at the prestigious Semmelweis University, Hungary's oldest medical school which also offers courses in Physical Education and Sports Sciences.

The route passes several universities, colleges and academies on both sides of the River Danube. Approximately half of the race is out and back along the river where runners pass Hungary's largest building — the magnificent Parliament building (pictured).

The event includes a 6km run, the ‘Academic Six’. Both routes are mostly flat and fast.

In 2010, the half marathon winners were Gábor Józsa (1:10:03) and Barbara Molnár (1:19:27).
