Debrecen University is in the Great Forest Park.

A new half marathon race will be run in March 2011 in eastern Hungary.

The event will be staged in the Great Forest Park (Nagyerdei park), which is on the northern outskirts of Debrecen, Hungary's second largest city with a population of around 200,000.

Bordering the protected Great Forest (Nagyerdő), the park comprises large recreation spaces, ponds, sports facilities, thermal baths, a botanical garden and the university.

The start and finish are on the athletics track in the park. The route is flat and fast.

The event is organized by the Rotary Club, a worldwide non-profit organization that aims at providing humanitarian services.

Race centre: Pallagi út 5 (on the day 9.00-10.30)
