4. Balaton Szupermaraton 2011
Siófok (Hungary), 17-20 March 2011
This ultra marathon running event around Central Europe's largest lake, Lake Balaton in Hungary, offers various races for ultra runners and relay teams.
The route is one loop of 195 kilometres, split in four stages:

Participants can choose to run all four stages (Supermarathon), or the last two stages (Half Supermarathon), or only one stage (Marathon+).
Relay teams consist of up to four runners. Each stage is split in two or three sections.
The route is mildly undulating along footpaths, cycle paths and minor roads, mostly close to the shore.
Last year, 114 runners (out of around 500 participants), completed the ultra-loop around the lake. Pál Rostás led the field home in 14hours 33minutes (that's a pace of 4:29 min/km). Krisztina Marótiné Bense was first woman in 16hours 20minutes (5:02 min/km).

You get: sports clothing, finisher medal, massage; transport of personal clothing (for individual runners only); no bus service for relay runners!

- Supermarathon: 114 individuals; 71 teams of four runners, 34 teams of two runners
- Half Supermarathon: 13 individuals ; 5 teams of two runners
- Marathon+: 50 individuals
