This trail running event in the north-east of Italy is staged in the Val Rosandra, a spectacular gorge on the edge of the Adriatic port city of Trieste.

The route is a 13-kilometre up-and-down loop, which includes 600 metres of climbing. Start and finish are in the village of Bagnoli della Rosandra at the foot of the gorge.

Competitors run on trails through the gorge and across a beautiful karst plateau of wood- and grassland. The highest point on the course is on top of Monte Carso (457m), a wooded hill on the border with Slovenia. Parts of the course run through Slovenia.

In 2010, the Jamarun winners were Alessandro Maraspin (58:00) and Daniela da Forno (1:10:18).
