Corso Vittorio Emanuele in Pordenone
Over 500 runners took part in last year's half marathon in Pordenone, a town of 50,000 inhabitants, located on the Friulian Plain in north-eastern Italy.
The start and finish are on Piazza XX Settembre in the town centre. The route consists of one loop that winds its way through several districts (borghi) of Pordenone.
Competitors run through residential quarters, rural areas, the industrial portion of town, and finally through the historic centre and along the picturesque Corso Vittorio Emanuele with its beautiful palazzi and long arcades. The course is very mildly undulating.
In 2009, the winners were Kenya's Kurui Chesang (1:02:01) and Pasalia Kipkoech (1:11:07).
