The "Trail della Valle" is back with a new name and a new course.

The event is staged on trails in and around the Val Rosandra, a spectacular gorge on the edge of the Adriatic port city of Trieste in the north-east of Italy.

Parts of the course run through neighbouring Slovenia.

The race is an 11km up-and-down round trip with an elevation gain/loss of 600 metres.

The start and the finish are in the village of Bagnoli della Rosandra at the foot of the gorge. The route runs along the River Rosandra uphill to a beautiful karst plateau of wood- and grassland.

The highest point on the course is on top of Monte Carso (457m), a wooded hill on the border with Slovenia. The last 2 kilometres are steep downhill.

The time limit stands at 2.5hours, the entry limit is 200 participants.
