Race across Slovenia

Rateče - Obrežje, 11-14 February 2010

The Sava Valley in Gorenjska, Slovenia (1st stage)

You'd like to do some winter sports but you're bored of queuing at ski lifts and sliding down a hill?

You're planning to include a couple of long runs in your winter training anyway?

So then this is the event for you! Run across Slovenia in February, 220 kilometres in four days, from the world's largest ski jump at the Italian border to the border crossing near the Croatian capital Zagreb. The route follows the River Sava downstream and features an elevation loss of approximately 800 metres. A piece of cake for ultra runners.

Like the first Trans Slovenia ultra marathon, which was held six months earlier, the winter edition is for most participants more a sociable affair than a serious competition.
