Castelnuovo del Garda (Italy), Sunday 5 December 2010
This new event at Lake Garda in northern Italy promises to be good fun for the whole family.
The half marathon as well as the non-competitive runs (3k and 8k) finish in Gardaland, one of Europe's most popular amusement parks.
The start is just outside the park entrance. All routes are traffic-free.
The half marathon consists of a mildly-undulating loop through the agricultural area east of the lake, followed by a shorter loop around the campsites at the town of Peschiera del Garda.
Approximately two kilometres of the route are along the lakeside promenade (pictured above).
Strangely, only athletes affiliated with the Italian Athletic Federation FIDAL are eligible for prizes.
