This running event in eastern Slovenia gives you a good reason to visit Ptuj, Slovenia's oldest town. With its compact medieval core dominated by a hilltop castle it's also one of the most attractive small towns in the country.

The old town is situated on the left bank of the River Drava. Start and finish are across the river at Terme Ptuj, a thermal spa and recreational centre.

The revised route is flat and fast and takes you along both banks of the Drava. Participants run a lap of around 5.5km, followed by a 10km out-and-back section and another lap of 5.5km.

In addition to the half marathon, the event features a 6k race.

After the races, all competitors get a warm meal and free entry to the outdoor pools of the spa.

The winners in 2008 were Damjan Slapnik (1:16:25) and Jana Strahinič (1:37:45).
