18. Hagemann Race 2009
Družbinec (CRO), Sunday 12 July 2009
Marathon legend Anna Hagemann hopes runners from many countries will run around her village and eat home-made cakes.
Few race organizers are more experienced in the world of running than Anna Hagemann, finisher of 118 marathons, 13 ultramarathons and countless shorter races.
For the 18th time she stages an event without any fuss in her home village in the far north of Croatia. You can run either one or four laps around the village. One lap is a bit shorter than 3km. The route is as flat as a pancake.
The villagers share Anna's enthusiasm and support her, and all households provide home-made cakes or some other delicacies. There is no prize fund but a raffle with some valuable prizes, and almost everyone will win something.
