32nd Run around Lake Klopein

Lake Klopein in the Austrian province of Carinthia is one of Austria's warmest lakes and a very popular tourist destination in the summer.

The event offers races of 5.2km (one lap around the lake) and 10.4km (two laps).

The race is popular with holidaymakers and day trippers who want to spend a nice day out at the lake.

Venue (Map): Klopeiner See (99km from Ljubljana, 104km from Maribor, 188km from Udine)

Date: 15 August 2009 (Saturday, public holliday in Austria)

Race distance: 5.2km; 10.4km; 0.5km and 1km (children)

Start time: 16.00 (children); 17.00 (5.2km and 10.4km)

Start and finish: Klopeiner See, at the Gemeindebad (public bath) on the northern shore of the lake

Entries: advance entries until 10 August by e-mail or by post; payment by bank transfer; late entries on the day from 12.00 to 15.30

Entry fees (5.2km): €11/15 (advance entries/late entries) 

Entry fees (10.4km): €13/17

Entry fees (children): €6/8

Timing: Champion Chip — use your own chip or rent a chip for €3 (€25  deposit)

Race centre: Promenadenbuffet Mischitz at the Gemeindebad

You get: finisher T-shirt or a cap or a medal

Prizes: trophy and painting to the winner; trophies to the first three in each category

Award ceremony: at 18.30
