Half Marathon Riviera of the doges

The Brenta canal, which flows from the town of Stra to the Adriatic near Venice, was a popular summer refuge for the doges and the Venetian nobility. You won't find such a profusion of Venetian villas anywhere else outside of Venice.

This half marathon alongside the Brenta canal gives you the chance to see the villas between Stra and Mira. Start and finish are in Fiesso d'Artico which is on the canal in between these two towns. There is also a supporting 9km fun run and a 2km kids' marathon.

Last year, there were 1168 finishers in the half marathon. Said Boudalia won with ease in 1:06:43, while Stefania Benedetti led the women home in 1:17:21.
