The Tek po vinski cesti (‘Run along the Wine Road’) is part of the Dolenjski tekaški pokal (or Teki Dolenjske), a series of running events held yearly between April and October in the Dolenjska region in Slovenia.
Both the start and the finish are in the village of Bušeča vas which sits in the picturesque Krka River Valley.
The route is 9.65 kilometres long and, with 175 metres of elevation change, quite challenging.
Competitors run through farmland, vineyards and villages, mostly on asphalt roads.
The event also offers a 1.72-kilometre run, children's races and a guided walk.
