The Brasov Marathon is a mountain running event held annually in the Carpathians in Romania.

It offers four very challenging multi-terrain races which begin and end on Piața Sfatului (Council Square), the spacious and beautiful main square of the city of Brașov.

  • 70km ultramaraton (+3,900m)
  • 41km maraton (+2,200m)
  • 21km semimaraton (+1,100m)
  • 10km cros (+380m)

All routes climb up and down the steep slopes of the densely-wooded Postăvarul Massif.

The marathon takes the runners to Poiana Brașov (one of Romania's most popular ski resorts) and to Vârful Postăvaru (1,799m), the highest peak of the massif.

Participants in the ultramarathon also run to the summit of Piatra Mare (1,843m), the highest peak of the neighbouring Piatra Mare Mountains.
