Held every year on Epiphany (Three Kings' Day), a Christian feast day that is celebrated in many countries on 6 January, the Marcia dei Magi is a non-competitive running and walking event that attracts at least several hundred participants every year.

Three multi-terrain routes are available, approximately 7km, 15km and 21km long.

Starting in Campolonghetto, a small village located near the old fortress town of Palmanova in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region in the north-eastern part of Italy, all routes are very flat loops through farmland and villages on the vast Bassa Friulana Plain.
