Straverona, Verona, Italy - runners on Corso Porta Nuova (Copyright © 2014 Hendrik Böttger /

Held in the old city of Verona in northern Italy, the Straverona is a hugely popular non-competitive fun running and walking event that attracts a crowd of up to 20,000 participants every year.

All routes (6km, 10km, 20km) begin and end at the Arena, Verona's gigantic Roman amphitheatre, situated on Piazza Bra in the beautiful Old Town.

The 6k route is a flat loop through the city centre. The 10k and 20k routes take the runners also up the hills in the northern part of the city.

Registration is simple and cheap and can be done either online or in person in Verona.

The entry fees are the same for all routes. You can still decide on the course which route you want to take.
