The Ostseeküstenlauf (‘Baltic Sea Coast Run’) is held annually in Kühlungsborn, the largest seaside resort in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Germany.

With its scenic setting and a choice of five races, it's an event for the whole family:

  • 1.5km
  • 5km
  • 10km
  • 10km Nordic Walking
  • 21.1km Halbmarathon (half marathon)

The half marathon is an out-and-back run along Strandpromenade (one of Germany's longest beach promenades) and through rolling agricultural land away from the coast.

The route passes several elegant spa buildings such as the Hotel Schloss am Meer:
