Sunday 16 October 2022
This Halbmarathon (half marathon) in Germany's state of Sachsen (Saxony) begins and ends at the 91-metre-high Völkerschlachtdenkmal (Monument to the Battle of the Nations), one of Europe's biggest monuments, located about four kilometres south-east of the city centre of Leipzig.
The route loops through the southern outskirts of Leipzig and through rural areas where a coalition of Russian, Prussian, Austrian and Swedish armies defeated Napoleon in a fierce battle in October 1813.
The course is mainly flat.
Participants have the choice to run the race as an individual or as a relay (2x10.55km).
