The Bienwald Marathon is a road running event held annually on the second Sunday of March in the state of Rheinland-Pfalz (Rhineland-Palatinate) in Germany.
Two races are available, a 21.1km half marathon and a 42.2km marathon, and both will probably sell out early.
The course is traffic-free, certified and very flat and fast.
Starting and finishing at the Bienwald-Stadion in the town of Kandel, the route takes the runners through agricultural land, through the village of Minfeld and into the Bienwald, a vast protected forest located on the border with France.
