The City Marathon Bremerhaven is held each year in August in the port of Bremerhaven on Germany's North Sea coast.
It offers races for all ages and abilities::
- 400m, 800m children's races
- 6km run and walk
- 8km run
- 10km run and walk
- 21.1km Halbmarathon (half marathon)
- 42.2km Marathon
- 42.2km Marathonstaffel (relay for teams of four runners)
A new and scenic course was introduced in 2018. Starting and finishing on Bremerhaven's pedestrianized main shopping street, the route takes the runners through the city centre, along the Geeste river, along the seaside promenade, around the Zoo am Meer (‘Zoo at the Sea’) and through the Neuer Hafen (pictured).
The course is mainly flat and features a mix of surfaces (asphalt, setts, hard-packed gravel).
Participants in the half marathon run two laps of this course. The marathon is four laps.
