The Spreewald Marathon in Germany is a family-friendly multi-sport event that attracts more than 10,000 runners, walkers, hikers, cyclists, inline skaters, longboarders, paddlers and standup paddlers.

It is held annually over four days in the spring in the Spreewald, a vast wetland area criss-crossed by numerous brooks and canals.

Located in the state of Brandenburg, approximately 100 kilometres from Berlin, the ‘Spree Forest’ has been protected as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 1991.

The event features two venues—the town of Lübbenau and the village of Burg.

There is a variety of races for runners to choose from:

  • on Friday 25 April 2025 in Lübbenau:
    • 400m kids run
    • 5km night run
  • on Saturday 26 April 2025 in Burg:
