The Lübeck Marathon is a road running event held annually in the autumn in the Hansestadt Lübeck (Hanseatic City of Lübeck) in Germany's northernmost state of Schleswig-Holstein.

Eight races are on offer:

  • 42.2km marathon
  • 2x21.1km relay
  • 10x4.2km relay
  • 21.1km half marathon
  • 21.1km handbike half marathon
  • 10km
  • 5km
  • 2.4km children's run

Starting on Kohlmarkt in the medieval Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the marathon follows an undulating out-and-back course which takes the runners around the Holstentor (Holsten Gate), ...

... through residential and green areas, and through the 866-metre-long Herrentunnel under the Trave river.

The turnaround point is on Strandpromenade in the Baltic seaport of Lübeck-Travemünde:
