Held annually in the summer in the relatively-affluent south-western part of Germany's capital city, RUN Berlin (formerly known as Stadtlauf Berlin) is a hugely popular road running event with around 4,000 or more participants in four races:

  • 450m and 900m Bambinilauf (kids' races)
  • 10.5km Viertelmarathon (quarter marathon)
  • 21.1km Halbmarathon (half marathon)

The quarter marathon is one lap and the half marathon is two.

Starting at the SportScheck sports shop on Schloßstraße, one of Berlin's main shopping streets, participants run through the leafy localities of Steglitz, Dahlem, Schmargendorf and Friedenau, passing many elegant villas, the Botanical Garden and several buildings of the Free University of Berlin.

Instead of a bib, entrants get a technical T-shirt which they must wear during the race.
