The Citylauf Dresden is a road running event staged in the city of Dresden, capital of the state of Sachsen (Saxony) in Germany.
The main race of the day is the 10k race which attracts a top-class field of elite athletes and a crowd of about 2,000 ambitious runners.
The route is a certified 5k loop course which runs through the city centre and along the Elbe river, passing some of Dresden's best-known sights such as the Semperoper (pictured below) .
In addition to the 10k race, the event incorporates a 5k race and children's races.
