The Citylauf Dresden is a road running event staged in the city of Dresden, capital of the state of Sachsen (Saxony) in Germany.
The main race of the day is the 10k race which usually attracts a top-class field of elite athletes and a crowd of well over 1,000 ambitious runners.
Starting at the Semperoper (pictured above), the route is a 5k loop course which runs through the city centre and along the Elbe river, passing some of Dresden's best-known sights.
In addition to the 10k race, the event incorporates a 5k race and children's races.
