The Ostseelauf (‘Baltic Sea Run’) is a running event held in the beach resort of Timmendorfer Strand, one of Germany's best-known seaside holiday destinations, situated on the coast of the Ostsee (Baltic Sea), approximately eighty kilometres from the city centre of Hamburg.
Usually, the event attracts well over 1,000 participants.
These races are available:
- 1.68km kids run
- 5km
- 10km
- 21.1km half marathon
Starting at the Sportplatz Strand-Arena, the course is flat and scenic. It has been accurately measured.
The route is partly paved and partly unpaved and runs out and back along the coastal promenade between the resorts of Niendorf and Scharbeutz.
The half marathon is two laps.
