The Ostseelauf (‘Baltic Sea Run’) is a running event held in the beach resort of Timmendorfer Strand, one of Germany's best-known seaside holiday destinations, situated on the coast of the Ostsee (Baltic Sea), approximately eighty kilometres from the city centre of Hamburg.

Usually, the event attracts about 1,500 participants.

These races are available:

  • 1.68km kids run
  • 5km
  • 10km
  • 21.1km half marathon

Starting at Timmendorf's Seebrücke pier (pictured above), all races are flat, accurately-measured and scenic out-and-back runs along the coastal promenade between the resorts of Niendorf and Scharbeutz.

The half marathon is two laps (10km+11.1km). The route is partly paved and partly unpaved.
