The Berlin Half Marathon (German: Berliner Halbmarathon) is one of Germany's biggest running events. The highest number of finishers was recorded in 2024 when 30,886 runners crossed the finish line.

Over the last years, the registration fees have risen sharply. The fees for the 2025 half marathon range from €74 for early birds up to €89. The average entry fee is €86.90. Nevertheless, the race may sell out well in advance.

Starting and finishing on Straße des 17. Juni, the main avenue through the vast Tiergarten park, the course is flat and fast.

The race begins near the imposing Berliner Siegessäule (Berlin Victory Column, pictured above) and ends at the famous Brandenburger Tor (Brandenburg Gate), approximately 1,300 metres from the start line.

The route visits many landmarks in both the former West and East sectors of the city, such as Schloss Charlottenburg (Berlin's largest palace), Checkpoint Charlie (one of the biggest tourist hot spots in the city) and the grand buildings on Gendarmenmarkt. It also takes the runners along the Kurfürstendamm and the Unter den Linden boulevards as well as through the Brandenburger Tor.
