Saturday 20 August 2022
The Müritz-Lauf is held in the Mecklenburg Lake District, a thinly-populated area of great natural beauty, located in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in the north-eastern part of Germany.
Runners can choose from three race options:
- 26.5km Städte-Lauf
- 75km Ultramarathon
- 75km Team-Staffellauf (relay for teams of up to eight runners)
Starting in the resort of Waren (Müritz), the ultramarathon is an undulating loop around the Müritz, the largest of more than 1,000 lakes in the region.
The route takes the runners through agricultural areas, woods and villages.
Approximately 59 kilometres of the course are run on asphalt, 13 kilometres on gravel and three kilometres on single trails.
The 26.5km race is a point-to-point run. The route begins in the small spa town of Röbel/Müritz and runs along the lake's western shore to the finish in Waren (Müritz).
