The Europalauf is held annually in the summer in Neustadt in Holstein, a small harbour town of about 15,000 souls, situated in the Bay of Lübeck on the Baltic Sea coast in Germany.

It's a running event for the whole family. Six races are availabe, starting one after the other:

• 21.1km half marathon
• 10km
• 5km
  
• 5km walking and nordic walking
  
• 2.5km
• 900m kids run (7 years and under)
  

The main race of the day is the half marathon which features a very scenic route along the coastal promenade and through the lovely rolling countryside of the Ostholstein district.

Starting in the beach resort of Pelzerhaken, which is about four kilometres from Neustadt's Old Town, the race is run on paved and unpaved footpaths, cycleways and roads.
