The Běh Zoo Ostrava (‘Ostrava Zoo Run’) is a fundraising running event held annually on a summer evening in the coal-and-steel city of Ostrava in the Czech Republic.
The event takes place in the Ostrava Zoo and Botanical Park, the second-largest zoo in the country and a lovely place to spend a family day out in the wooded hills in the north-eastern part of the city.
Three options are available:
- 480m (one lap)
- 3km (one lap)
- 6km (two laps)
The course is an undulating loop that begins and ends at the Na statku (‘On the farm’) area in the middle of the zoo.
Entry to the zoo (in the afternoon, before the run) is included in the registration fees.
The Zoo Run in Ostrava is a very popular event and may sell out well in advance. The total number of participants is limited to 1,000 runners.
