The Kladenský maratón (Kladno Marathon) is held each September in the Lesopark Lapák (Lapák Forest Park) on the edge of Kladno, a town of about 68,000 people in the Czech Republic.
Situated 30 kilometres west of Prague, Kladno is an old coal and steel town with a long industrial heritage, surrounded by woods in all directions.
The 42.195km marathon is eight laps of a flat, fast and accurately-measured loop course on asphalt and gravel roads through the forest.
