The Půlmaraton Moravským krasem in the Czech Republic is a road running event held in the Moravský kras (Moravian Karst), a protected landscape area with more than 1,000 limestone caves.

All races ...

  • 2.4km běh městem (town run)
  • 2.4km běh mladých (young athletes' run)
  • 800m dětský půlmaraton (kids' run)

... begin and end on the main square of Blansko, an industrial town of about 20,000 people, situated thirty kilometres north of the city of Brno.

The half marathon route runs through the town centre and out and back along the steep valley of the Punkva river, passing the Punkevní jeskyně (Punkva Caves), the most popular tourist attraction in the area.

The first half of the course is a bit uphill (about 100 metres of ascent) and the second half downhill.

Runners are given three hours to finish the race.
