New Year, 1 January 2024
The Novogodišnja utrka (‘New Year's Run’) in Varaždin, a town of about 44,000 people in the far north of Croatia, is a 4.6km road race starting at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Day when champagne corks pop and fireworks go off.
The route begins and ends on Trg kralja Tomislava (‘King Tomislav Square’) in the heart of Varaždin's beautiful Old Town. The course is flat.
