The Noćni Maraton (Night Marathon) in Zagreb is one of Croatia's most popular running events.
There are race options for all levels of runners:
- 4.2km (1/10 marathon)
- 10.55km (1/4 marathon)
- 21.1km (1/2 marathon)
- 31.65km (3/4 marathon)
- 42.2km (full marathon)
The start/finish area is at Bundek, a lake and a park in Novi Zagreb on the right bank of the Sava which flows from west to east through the southern part of the city.
The route is a 10.55-kilometre loop through the park and along both banks of the river. So, the half marathon is two laps, the three-quarter marathon is three laps and the full marathon is four laps.
The majority of the route is on gravel paths which are flat and smooth and illuminated during the race.
