Sunday 10 July 2022
The Faakerseelauf in Austria offers two races:
- 10.55km Panoramalauf
- 21.1km Halbmarathon
The half marathon is two laps of a very scenic loop course around the Faaker See (Lake Faak), a popular summer holiday destination situated in the state of Kärnten (Carinthia), near the borders with Slovenia and Italy.
Starting at the Eventgelände Arneitz (Camping Arneitz) in Faak am See on the eastern shore of the lake, the route takes the runners on asphalt roads through lovely scenery and pretty villages.
Be prepared for some testing ascents! Each lap features 85 metres of elevation gain.
The course will be closed to all traffic during the race.
Update (November 2022):
The race organizers have announced that the Faakerseelauf held on 10 July 2022 was the final one.
