The Leopoldilauf des LCC Wien is a road running event held annually in honour of Saint Leopold III, patron saint of Vienna and of Austria, whose feast day is on November 15th.

Set in the wooded Wiener Prater, the largest public park in Vienna, the event offers three races: 7km (one lap), 14km (two laps) and 21.1km (three laps). The third lap is a bit longer than the first two laps.

The event offers a great opportunity to set a PB over the half marathon distance as the course is totally flat, AIMS-certified and closed to traffic.

Approximately five kilometres of each lap are run on the main avenue through the park, the Prater Hauptallee.

Each lap features a U-turn at the famous Wiener Riesenrad (pictured) which stands in the "Wurstelprater" amusement park.

After the race, participants can use the showers at the premises of the LCC Wien athletic club in the Ernst-Happel-Stadion, Austria's national stadium.
