The Altstadt Adventlauf ("Old Town Advent Run") is a running event held in the very pretty Altstadt of Mödling which is situated at the foot of the Wienerwald hills, just about sixteen kilometres from the city centre of Wien (Vienna), capital of Austria.
The event offers races for runners of all ages:
- 250m-700m-1.2km-1.7km children's races
- 5km (two laps)
- 10km (four laps)
- 4 x 2.5km relay
The 2.5km-long loop course has been accurately measured and certified.
After the race, many runners use the occasion to warm up with a cup of mulled wine on the Adventmarkt (Christmas market) in the festively decorated Old Town.
