The VCM Winterlaufserie is a winter running series held in Austria's capital Wien in preparation for the annual Vienna City Marathon.
The event offers a fine opportunity to set a personal best time over the 5k, 10k, 15k or half marathon distance as the race course is pancake-flat, AIMS-certified and closed to traffic.
1st VCM Winter Run:

The route runs out and back along Hauptallee, the main avenue through Vienna's largest public park, the Wiener Prater.
Participants in the 5k race run one lap of this course. The 10k is two laps and the 15k is three laps.
The half marathon on 19 January 2025 consists of four laps. The final lap is a bit longer than the first three laps.
The half marathon on 2 March 2025 begins with a point-to-point run from Reichsbrücke, a bridge across the Danube, to the finish area in the Prater (ca. 4km). Then, competitors run two laps (each approximately 8.5km long) along Hauptallee.
