The Drau Drava Run takes runners along the Drava (German: Drau), an over 700km-long river that flows through five countries: Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary.
Established in 2024, the event offers four race options:
- 21.1km half marathon
- 10km run
- 5km run
- 5km nordic walking
All routes begin and end at the Sportplatz (sports field) on the edge of Lavamünd, a small town situated in the province of Kärnten (Carinthia) in Austria:
The races are run out and back on the Drauradweg, a long-distance cycling route along the river. Participants in the 5k race run one lap through Lavamünd. The 10k is two laps. The course is mainly flat.
The half marathon course is undulating and crosses the Austria-Slovenia border:
