Held in the small town of Althofen in Austria's province of Kärnten, the Althofner Panoramalauf offers a day out for all the family:
- 100m-200m-600m-900m-1,200m (children's races)
- 300m (‘Mein Kind und ich’ family run)
- 5.3km (run and walk)
- 9.3km
The kids' races and the family run take place at the Freizeitanlage (sports complex) on the edge of town. The course is flat.
In contrast, the 5.3k and the 9.3k are challenging loop courses that take the runners up and down the hill east of Althofen.
Both routes provide marvellous views of the surrounding mountain scenery and of Althofen's Old Town, which sits on a ridge high above the fertile Krappfeld valley.
The 9.3k course is run on a mix of asphalt roads, gravel roads and forest trails whereas the 5.3k course is run mainly on asphalt.
Free entry to the outdoor pools of the Freizeitanlage is included in the entry fees.
