Held in the Lungau region in the state of Salzburg in Austria, the Lungauer Murtallauf offers races for runners of all ages and abilities:

  • Windelmeile & Kinderlauf (kids' races)
  • 560m Integrationslauf (fun run for runners of all abilities)
  • 3x300m Staffellauf mit Laser-Biathlon (relay run)
  • 5.5km Fitnesslauf
  • 8km Nordic Walking
  • 10km Genusslauf
  • 15km Erlebnislauf
  • 21.1km Panoramalauf

The first three races on the list begin and end in Tamsweg, a small market town situated at an elevation of 1,022 metres in the Oberes Murtal (Upper Mur Valley). The start/finish area is on Marktplatz, Tamsweg's colourful main square.

The other races (5.5km and longer) are undulating point-to-point runs along the valley, ending in Tamsweg.

Starting in Sankt Michael im Lungau (pictured below), the half marathon features 130 metres of ascent and 160 metres of descent.
