The Wachau Marathon is a road running event held annually in September in Austria's state of Niederösterreich (Lower Austria).

Entrants can choose between four scenic point-to-point races along the Danube, finishing in the town of Krems:

  • 11km Viertelmarathon (quarter marathon)
  • 21.1km Halbmarathon (half marathon: run and nordic walking)
  • 42.2km Marathon
  • 42.2km Staffel Marathon (relay race for teams of two, three or four runners).

The half marathon is the most prestigious of these races, attracting international elite athletes and the biggest field of participants (around 4,000).
